New laptop! Yay!
Yes, getting a new laptop, HP Envy 13. Not a Macbook.
I didn't own a laptop for years because my firm always provides a working laptop. To me, it's really functional of using laptop, not dependent at all. I just need to kill some work tasks at home, handle some simple personal documents and etc. Also, I hate using laptop at home. I like my home rather isolated from this. I am a big fan of mobile. Most of the stuff can be done through mobile apps, highly customized.
The mindset, or lifestyle, changes recently as I don't have a working laptop anymore. And I have been picking up more personal stuff which requires me to focus on a document and huge amount of desktop research. If possible, I wish this new laptop can help organize this bit and make things easier.
The desire of picking up writing, learning more skills on video and photo editing, making impact through all these gets stronger. Fancy some weekend time sitting in a cafe and do some writing. Motivated to vlog, before that, need a tool and practise. Doing all these. I really need a laptop!

Watching Ten Years
If you love Hong Kong, you would feel so much while watching Ten Years. The debate about Ten Years not up to the standard for The Best Movie should not be such a big focus. We like watching movie because we like to indulge into the adventures, emotions and contemplation the story and characters bring to us. Likewise, I enjoy contemplating Hong Kong future and where I am sitting in the society while watching this movie. What's better is that I was so lucky to be in the panel discussion right after showing the movie together with two guest speakers and over 200 hundreds of Hong Kong citizens.
The dialogues are certainly robust and encouraging in a sense that we are looking for like-minded persons and sincerely hoping to connect our thoughts with each other, ultimately making impact.
One of the line resonates a lot to myself is that persistence does not ask you to think whether it is doable but whether it is right. Many of us should feel this is not right. This is not the hometown we used to live and like. And I truly believe even for those who are pro-Chinese government feel not right. Just that they choose to act indifferent or obedient. As the majority are taking wait-and-see attitude (you just don't believe how well Hong Kong people are trained to live in the lie of "prosperity and stability", it is crucial to enlighten the sleeping minds.
Headlines in media consists of a great portion of dramas and line to take for the privileged parties. Knowing what has been doing and clearing doubts through conversations are on the top priority. My personal view is that the education process has been slow to Hong Kong citizens realizing the status quo is critical, in a way that changes have to be made extensively and deeply.
I would love to end this with an anecdote that makes me feel warm and supportive. I sent the questionnaires and volunteer recruitment forms to a local printer shop. The young guy was so diligent and effective - a good example of our can-do spirit. He looked at the papers and started conversation with me about what we are doing and the movie. He is so kind to say he will look up us in Facebook and shout when he has free time to help. At the end, he asked us to say his name when we want to print anything. He or his mother will definitely give us discount. The words had sweep away the exhaustion of organizing the event. I do not plan to get the discount as I want to support their business in the neighborhood. The best part is always to engage the community, not by money, not by authority, but by the same thoughts and values.

Reviewing the past
It's always funny to review what you wrote in the past. The previous experience was looking back my Xanga blog. Flashing back the emotions I came across in teenage's time. Feeling super awkward. However, I was surprised by myself how sensational I was. So looking back this blog's post...super embarrassing. I wrote about PR as career! By that time, I first entered this industry and still being excited by what it would bring to my life and what kind of challenges I would embrace. Five years passed. Those words stay the same. What has changed is how I think my work linking to my life stage. The role and responsibilities have changed as time goes by. I am fairly content with what I am right now. taking a step back to review the work I am doing and explore how I can go beyond the current scope and capability.
So, tips for reviewing the past - make sure you have a strong heart and plenty of time to reflect and meditate. Always worth doing so at the beginning of the year!

PR Life
I have never thought of being a PR requires me so much energy.
Clients' needs come first. Everything goes in a fast pace. Pay attention to every details.
If I aint a resourceful person, I would never resolve requests from different parties at every minute. If I aint a cheerful person, I would never smile to every irritated person like those arrogant bankers and lawyers. If I aint a tough person, I would never carry a formal suit and fight in a five-star venue. If I aint a patient person, I would never stop complaining every person I encounter. If I aint a strict person, I would never push production people to furnish all my requests. If I aint a passionate person, I would never love to continue such hard job. If I aint a determined person, I would never insist to stay when seeing a dozen of new comers leave.
If I dont love this job, I would never deal with so many big boss. If I dont love this job, I would never know how much I like challenges. If I dont love this job, I would never go beyond my body limit. If I dont love this job, I would never learn to solve many problems at once. If I dont love this job, I would never dream I can be a sophisticated person. If I dont love this job, I would never struggle to stay. If I dont love this job, I would never see the positive sides of being sick.
What if I give up? I will look down on myself forever. From today, I vow to live on a cheering career life.

Headache for your business Card?
It has been a tough job for you to outstand from all the template-like style business cards. Usually there will be more room for designers or architects to be creative on their cards, or it is even a premium for clients to showcase designer's style and talent. It's even harder for a freelance person to design his card. Share with you some of the creative designs.
If you trust your face is good looking enough, use this.
If you want to get bold, try these. Especially when the clients get angry with you ><
Some of you may like to play with experience.

Or you just dare to play in shapes. I am sure not many purses or wallets can fit these in.

What's yours?
This playful eyes certainly help you to create some funny experiences to clients.
